The sponsorship is for rebuilding areas hit by floods in Broșteni, Suceava County.

Running from September 2025 to September 2026, the project aims to restore the homes of families affected by flooding and build resilience through training sessions in the local community, so that they are better prepared for future challenges.

The initiative is part of the Coca-Cola HBC Foundation's commitment to intervene in vulnerable communities in times of crisis, as part of the Coca-Cola HBC group's long-term vision to generate added value in the communities in which it operates. At the heart of this vision is sustainability and support for communities, with the Foundation playing an active role in providing the necessary assistance where it is most needed.

"The floods have taken lives and left people homeless, with major damage to infrastructure and the local economy. We stand with the affected families, especially since we, Coca-Cola HBC Romania, have been present in Suceava County for over 20 years through the Dorna factory in Poiana Negri, and we feel it is our role to take care of the neighboring communities. What happened shows us once again how important it is to be prepared for natural phenomena and, more importantly, to mobilize as a team to intervene, regardless of whether we are part of companies, institutions, NGOs, or have another status. Immediately after the floods, we donated 7,500 liters of Dorna mineral water to residents who were left without drinking water, through local authorities. Now, I am delighted that we can scale up our community support efforts alongside our partners at Habitat for Humanity. Both interventions are a telling example of how the power of partnership between the private, social, and public sectors brings good to communities and builds resilience where it is needed. Because only together can we intervene on a larger scale to leave a stronger world #AfterUs," Alice Nichita, Corporate Affairs & Sustainability Director, Coca-Cola HBC Romania

With a 34-year presence and an extensive local footprint—through our factories in Ploiești, Timișoara, and Poiana Negri, our suppliers, partners, and the thousands of businesses in our value chain—we have built a strong commitment to our communities and to the environment that sustains us all.

Following severe flooding at the end of July, six communities in Suceava and Neamț counties were affected, with over 2,500 people suffering and more than 800 homes damaged40 of which were completely destroyed and beyond repair. Habitat for Humanity Romania has initiated an integrated intervention project focused on early recovery, reconstruction, and resilience.

The project, which will last one year, will provide: technical assistance, vouchers for the purchase of building materials, debris removal, direct repairs, and reinforcement of damaged homes, following the principles of Build Back Better. In addition, it will include training in disaster preparedness and increasing the resilience of affected communities, with the aim of reducing future risks and supporting the long-term recovery of the most vulnerable families.

"In Broșteni, we acted from the very beginning to support families affected by the floods. Our experience in managing emergencies shows us that immediate assistance must be complemented by long-term solutions that restore safety and stability to affected families and prepare the entire community to better cope with future challenges," Roberto Pătrășcoiu, National Director of Habitat for Humanity Romania

The grant provided by the Coca-Cola HBC Foundation will support these interventions, through which 878 affected residents will receive support as follows:

  • 145 people will receive kits for home repairs and cleaning (assistance through vouchers) and short-term rent support.
  • 238 residents are supported through direct repairs and reinforcement work, construction materials, and assistance.
  • 495 people participate in training activities.

In the long term, this initiative strengthens social cohesion, builds resilience, and prepares communities for future challenges.

The Coca-Cola HBC Foundation was established in 2023 with a mission to support communities in the countries where the company operates by providing grants to non-governmental organizations in four main areas:

  • Community resilience, including disaster relief and recovery.
  • Sustainable access to safe drinking water for our communities.
  • Support for young people from vulnerable backgrounds.
  • Circular economy projects and initiatives.

Last year, the foundation funded several projects, including recovery initiatives following severe flooding in several countries. As part of its ongoing mission, the foundation's donations totaled €2.3 million to support local communities in Greece, Cyprus, Bulgaria, and Romania following devastating fires and floods, including restoring natural forests and building resilience through equipment and volunteer training.
