Project story

Starting in August 2024, residents of Sector 6 in Bucharest will have two new green spaces with a total area of 3,000 square meters, thanks to the "Act Today for a Greener Tomorrow" project.

Funded by the Coca-Cola Foundation through the New World Program and implemented by the CSR Nest Association, this project aims to provide residents of one of the capital's most congested districts with two ecological relaxation areas and educational resources for environmental protection. The project was carried out in partnership with the Sector 6 Public Domain Administration (ADP Sector 6) in the Dreptății Park area and on Preciziei Boulevard.

SUSTAINABLE INFRASTRUCTURE AND ECO-FRIENDLY FACILITIES

The new green spaces include facilities that promote the circular economy and respect for the urban environment. These include urban furniture made from recycled materials, rainwater harvesting systems for irrigation, separate waste collection infrastructure, and photovoltaic panels for eco-friendly lighting. To help improve air quality, monitoring sensors have been installed that provide real-time data on urban pollution.

EDUCATIONAL COMPONENT

The spaces include information points equipped with educational materials on separate waste collection, the circular economy, and air quality, accessible via QR codes. Furthermore, the program has an environmental education component for young people in Sector 6, through which schools receive educational video resources to promote sustainable and responsible behavior among young people.
