Big Belly is a smart city solution for efficient waste collection and urban sanitation, offering specialized containers with five times the capacity thanks to an internal compaction mechanism.
Powered by solar energy, these containers were initially implemented in Bucharest in 2019 and recently expanded to Timișoara through a partnership between Coca-Cola HBC Romania, Timișoara City Hall, and GreenPoint Management.

In the center of the capital, between Piața Unirii and Piața Universității, 30 Big Belly smart containers have been installed to support separate waste collection. They are distributed equally, 15 for recyclable waste and 15 for household waste, each with a capacity of 570 liters.
The 10 locations with Big Belly containers are now available on an interactive digital map, accessible by scanning the QR code on the containers.
