A program that transforms individual involvement into a collective force for sustainability
Throughout our journey towards sustainability, we have learned that real change comes from collaboration and that only by joining forces can we create a lasting impact where it matters most – in the heart of our communities. We are surrounded by people, organizations, and authorities who want the same thing: a better future for generations to come. This conviction gave rise to the Sustainability Board – a unique initiative through which we aim to bring together partners from the public and private sectors to develop scalable solutions that contribute to the well-being of communities and the protection of the environment, in order to leave a better world for future generations.

With a collaborative model inspired by SDG 17 – Partnerships for Goals, the program's mission is to bring together private, social, and institutional partners and residents of Ploiești Municipality to develop scalable solutions that contribute to the well-being of communities. The program is based on two main areas of intervention: Environment & People and Community.
There are three types of projects supported by the national program, mapped, developed, and implemented by the Federation of Community Foundations in Romania:
SUSTAINABLE IN THE NEIGHBORHOOD – CALL FOR MICROGRANTS
Through the four microgrants offered to local NGOs, it transformed community ideas into real actions: over 1,000 direct beneficiaries were involved in educational activities, workshops, planting, and urban regeneration initiatives. The interventions implemented in neighborhoods—from urban gardens and multifunctional green spaces to ecological hubs and activities dedicated to young people—mobilized the community and demonstrated that local solutions can generate sustainable change when supported by expertise and dedicated partners.

A space for local collaboration and innovation. CIVITECA marks a first with the launch of an open space dedicated to local initiatives and collaboration between citizens, private partners, and institutional partners, within the Sustainability Board, with Coca-Cola HBC as the main funder.
Located in the city center, on the top floor of the historic building – the Clock Tower of the Central Halls (8 Emile Zola Street, Ploiești), CIVITECA has become a meeting point for ideas and resources and will host various activities, including community cafes, monthly educational workshops for young people, members of non-profit organizations, initiative groups, and teachers.
