At the end of 2020, together with PENNY and GreenPoint Management, we launched ECO-BON – an initiative that gave new value to separately collected PETs.
Reverse vending machines (RVMs) appeared in the car parks of three PENNY stores in Brașov, and for every 10 PETs brought in, people received a voucher and a bottle of Dorna water made from recycled PET. A simple way in which small gestures became real benefits for the community and for nature.

Reverse vending machines (RVMs) appeared in the car parks of three PENNY stores in Brașov, and for every 10 PETs brought in, people received a voucher and a bottle of Dorna water made from recycled PET. A simple way in which small gestures became real benefits for the community and for nature.
Each PET collected was a step towards a cleaner Brașov and an example of the circular economy in action. Consumers could bring their PETs to one of the collection points and receive shopping vouchers and attractive bonuses: 3 vouchers were worth 15 lei, while 5 vouchers brought in 25 lei and a bonus of 5 lei.
The entire initiative was supported by media campaigns and direct communication in stores, so that the message of sustainability would reach as many people as possible.
ECO-BON was a project through which we encouraged consumers to adopt responsible behaviour towards the environment and provided them with dedicated infrastructure to facilitate separate collection. Another objective of the campaign was to demonstrate the importance of the separate collection of PETs, so that they can be reused in the production of new packaging, thus reducing resource consumption.
