Circular packaging, responsible choices.
Carrefour and Coca-Cola HBC Romania have chosen to follow the same path of sustainability, building a partnership that leaves a positive mark on the environment and the community. Through The Sustainable Business Plan, we have set clear goals: reducing emissions, optimising the supply chain and promoting circular packaging. Beyond the figures and processes, the project speaks of a shared commitment – to change the way products reach the shelves and the way people choose them, step by step, towards a more responsible future #AfterUs.

Beyond the figures and processes, the project speaks of a shared commitment – to change the way products reach the shelves and the way people choose them, step by step, towards a more responsible future #AfterUs.
The first step in the partnership was to make transport more environmentally friendly. We reduced the number of journeys through more efficient ordering, used lightweight trailers to increase load capacity, and delivered directly from production sites. All of this has led to a smaller carbon footprint, without affecting the quality or speed of deliveries. And in the long term, we aim to go even further: to test and use electric and LNG trucks, showing that transport can be both efficient and sustainable.
Another important pillar of the partnership was the direct involvement of consumers in choosing sustainable packaging. In all Carrefour stores, Coca-Cola products packaged in 100% rPET had increased visibility through dedicated placements and materials made from recycled resources, complemented by interactive digital tools. Through the Act For Good app, customers were encouraged to discover the benefits of circular packaging and turn every choice into a concrete step towards reducing plastic and protecting the environment.
