Project story

In 2024, when floodwaters swept away homes, security, and peace of mind for entire families, Coca-Cola HBC began a long-term partnership with Habitat for Humanity to support affected families. When the counties of Galați and Vaslui were hit by floods, we responded quickly with financial support of over €200,000 from the Coca-Cola HBC Foundation to our partners at Habitat for Humanity Romania, and Coca-Cola HBC Romania donated over 44,000 liters of Dorna mineral water and soft drinks through the Red Cross.

The same solidarity became essential in the summer of 2025, when the counties of Neamț and Suceava went through the same ordeal. We were able to act immediately and launched a new phase of the project, which, in addition to reconstruction, also includes training and community resilience sessions. Once again, the aid exceeds €200,000, in addition to 7,500 liters of Dorna mineral water donated to affected families. But the real value lies in something deeper: solidarity. Because #DupăNoi means staying close to people in the long term, in the months and years when communities are seeking to regain their balance, step by step.

GALAȚI: INTERVENTION IN 2024-2025

In Galați, support came to life through the stories of three families who, after losing their homes, found temporary shelter with their rent fully covered. Ten other families received vouchers to repair their homes, and in 12 households, intervention teams worked to reinforce and rebuild damaged structures. At the same time, training courses were organized for 24 builders in the affected areas, focusing on sustainable reconstruction techniques.

The program also included a course for PASSA (Participative Approach for Safe Shelter Awareness) facilitators and community information sessions, which will culminate in a €40,000 call for projects aimed at supporting concrete solutions for preventing and reducing the effects of natural disasters.

BROȘTENI: INTERVENTION IN 2025-2026

In Broșteni, the project will continue in 2025-2026 in communities where this summer's floods affected 2,500 people and damaged more than 800 homes, 40 of which were destroyed beyond repair. The project brings hope through technical assistance, vouchers for building materials, debris removal, and direct repairs, all carried out in accordance with Build Back Better principles.

Furthermore, communities will benefit from disaster preparedness training and initiatives designed to increase resilience, reducing future risks. The goal is clear: to support the long-term recovery of the most vulnerable families and build a safer future for all.
