The story behind the project

Good Day on Via Transilvanica is an initiative that brings children closer to volunteering and environmental education in a safe and friendly environment. The project began in 2015 under the name "Good Day! Little Volunteers Day" and since 2024 it has become an experience that connects generations on Via Transilvanica. Throughout all these years, Good Day has remained about the same thing: the joy of protecting nature and building stronger communities together.

IMPACT

More than just numbers, the impact of the project can be seen in the way children view the world after participating. They learn that volunteering is not just about giving, but also about receiving: new friends, unforgettable memories, and the feeling that they can make a difference in their community. Through their connection with Via Transilvanica, they discovered the beauty of Romania's nature and the responsibility to preserve it for future generations #AfterUs.

THE STORY CONTINUES, POINT BY POINT

Good Day on Via Transilvanica is not just a project, but a tradition that continues year after year to bring together children, teachers, volunteers, and entire communities. Each edition opens a new page in the story of volunteering and environmental education, with the hope that more and more children will say "yes" to the joy of doing good.

COMMUNITY

Over the course of eight editions, „Good Day on Via Transilvanica” has grown with every child, teacher, and volunteer who has chosen to give their time to do good for nature. Together, we planted 92,500 seedlings, collected over 60,000 kilograms of waste, and organized workshops where children discovered what it means to be a tour guide or to protect hiking trails. In total, over 70,000 students and teachers from 614 schools in 10 counties were part of this story.

And starting in 2024, hikers setting out on foot through Bucovina and Ținutul de Sus will discover five carefully designed drinking water sources in the following locations: Fundu Moldovei, Dorna Candrenilor, Șieuț, Livezile, and Piatra Fântanele.
